I've been craving some semblance of a home for the past six months, but without the commitment to locale that usually goes with a piece of property. I have come up with a solution. A gypsy caravan, complete with ipod docks to play fleetwood mac albums on repeat.
Usually I really like lazy Sundays but last night I saw so many couples in love kissing tenderly, and now my heart is heavy and loneliness has set in. No matter how many episodes of true blood I watch. I should have gotten out of the house today, fed the ducks in the sunshine. What a wally, I stayed on the couch. I miss elephant's body being around the place.
John: Theyre making a new Alice in Wonderland Jezebel: Didnt Marilyn Manson do that? All dark and eerie, maybe a short version? I dont remember. Jack: Yeah, this is a new one though with Johnny Depp Jezebel: Oh dear god I wish it were a Tim Burton Jack: It is. Jezebel: Fuck.

Also excited that the bfi southbank is showing Cheri. I've only just discovered this is an adaptation of one of my favourite books, written by Colette, with one of the most beautiful women in the world playing the coquette, Michele Pfeiffer.
The first hot day in months - we went up to Hampstead Heath and wandered around the park looking for the bathing ponds. It's a lovely park to find a shady spot of grass and sunbake for the afternoon, preferably with food and water balloons. So many people were out enjoying the sunshine (proof that most of London is unemployed right now). The ponds themselves are gorgeous pools surrounded by trees and misty light, reminiscent of an American coming of age movie, complete with boardwalk. Not so romantic for Australians used to salt water keeping them afloat - we had sore arms from pawing at the water within minutes.
I'm disappointed that we have found this haven with only 3 months left to enjoy it. I would gladly live in London again if I could live and work in Hampstead, and spend every morning and dusk visiting the ponds, feeding the ducks and finding hidden spots for romps in the long grass.
